Theatre Scrub Nurse / ODP – Ophthalmology (Banbury)

About the role

We are seeking a registered theatre scrub practitioner to join the new Ophthalmology suite at The Cherwell Hospital in Banbury. You will work alongside experienced clinicians, gaining hands‑on experience in eye surgery and, optionally, orthopaedic procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑standard, patient‑focused care in the ophthalmology theatre.
• Train for and perform specific ophthalmic procedures, including phaco cataract surgery.
• Support orthopaedic surgery when required, following training.
• Maintain competence through regular theatre sessions as a scrub practitioner.
• Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and adhere to Ramsay policies and the Ramsay Way.

Required profile

• Registered with the NMC or HCPC.
• Previous experience working in a theatre environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business needs.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer literacy.
