Therapeutic Area Specialist - Cardiovascular NSW South/ACT

About the role

Bristol Myers Squibb is recruiting a Therapeutic Area Specialist for its cardiovascular portfolio in New South Wales South and the ACT. The role grows market share of the CV brand portfolio on territory and builds partnerships with key stakeholders in the public and private cardiology sector.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse all available data to identify trends, patterns, opportunities and threats
• Use a strategic mindset to define how to achieve business targets and write comprehensive business plans
• Prioritise time with stakeholders who will contribute to business success now and in the future
• Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders in the public and private cardiology sector to improve patient outcomes with the CV brands
• Understand the individual needs of each stakeholder
• Contribute to the BMS CV team culture by solving complex problems for better patient care, sharing knowledge and insights internally, and fostering collaboration
• Complete sales administration paperwork, reports and work within a set promotional budget, accurately and on time
• Ensure business objectives and practices comply with relevant laws, regulations and BMS standards of business conduct and ethics

Required profile

• Experience working in complex specialty environments across public and private settings
• Deep insight into the local hospital environment, including customers, networks, access and relevant departments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, resilience and tenacity
• Accountability, good decision-making and decisiveness
• Time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
• Preferred: tertiary qualification in Science, Nursing, Pharmacy or a related discipline
• Preferred: established relationships with cardiologists in public and private practice, and a proven track record in pharmaceutical sales in a hospital environment
• Preferred: understanding of heart failure/cardiomyopathy, disease management and treatment
