TIG Welder – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced TIG welder to join a small, dedicated team producing aircraft components in Swindon. The role offers a stable, full‑time position within a supportive manufacturing environment, with full training provided.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment for aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel parts.
• Perform spot welding and CNC‑controlled welding in various positions.
• Carry out brazing using high‑temperature silver or low‑temperature brass.
• Weld components using jigs or freehand techniques, ensuring accuracy.
• Complete ancillary operations such as fettling, deburring, polishing and cleaning.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work within specified tolerances.
• Measure, inspect and log production data within required timeframes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and support the team with flexible duties.

Required profile

• Proven experience in TIG welding, especially with stainless steel and aluminium alloys.
• Familiarity with brazing small components.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
• Previous manufacturing experience, ideally in aerospace or a similar sector.
