Time-Served MIG Welder – Up to £37.96/hr + Sign‑On Bonus

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, time‑served welder to join Caterpillar’s high‑volume manufacturing site in Stockton‑on‑Tees. The role involves MIG and MMA welding on heavy‑duty fixtures, operating across rotating day, back and night shifts on a 24‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Build and weld heavy‑duty fixtures and assemblies to strict tolerances.
• Perform MIG and MMA welding according to engineering specifications.
• Follow standard operating procedures and maintain a zero‑tolerance safety mindset.
• Collaborate with production teams while taking ownership of independent tasks.
• Carry out manual handling and lifting in line with safety guidelines.
• Conduct detailed quality checks on every weld to ensure fault‑free output.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Proven industrial experience with both MIG and MMA welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
• Full availability to work across day, back and night shift rotations.
• Experience in heavy engineering or automotive manufacturing is desirable.
