Trading Manager – Indian, Oriental, Asian & Health Ready Meals

About the role

As a Trading Manager for Indian, Oriental, Asian and Health Ready Meals you will lead the own‑brand food category, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to drive sales, pricing and growth. You will manage the category P&L and ensure value for customers through strategic sourcing and cost‑to‑serve programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve sales and pricing targets.
• Develop and negotiate business plans that align with market trends and customer needs.
• Track commodity costs, negotiate contracts and deliver cost‑to‑serve initiatives.
• Manage the category profit and loss, ensuring growth ahead of the market.
• Identify strategic opportunities and innovative product ideas for the ready‑meals range.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar trading or buying role.
• Strong awareness of customer requirements, market trends and competitor ranges.
• Ability to spot strategic opportunities and generate innovative product concepts.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence a diverse supplier base.
