Train Maintainer – Rolling Stock Maintenance

About the role

KeolisAmey Docklands is seeking a skilled Train Maintainer to join the Rolling Stock team at Beckton Depot. You will play a vital part in keeping the Docklands Light Railway fleet safe, reliable and ready for service in a safety‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and modifications on DLR rolling stock.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in line with technical instructions and safety procedures.
• Diagnose faults, support defect resolution and carry out fault‑finding activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update asset management systems.
• Operate depot plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct train movements within the depot and, when authorised, on the mainline for testing.
• Assist with commissioning of new and existing rolling stock systems.
• Support apprentices and new colleagues through knowledge sharing.
• Help keep the depot clean, safe and efficient.

Required profile

• City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience working in a maintenance environment.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and follow maintenance procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and ability to work shift patterns, including day and night roster.

Required skills

• City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering.
• Use of maintenance management systems (e.g., Maximo).
• Fault‑finding and diagnostic techniques.
• Railway rolling stock maintenance experience.
