Trainee Accountant – School & College Leaver Opportunity

About the role

We are looking for a motivated school or college leaver to start a professional career in accountancy. As a Trainee Accountant you will join a friendly practice in Banbury, receive full AAT training and gain hands‑on experience across a range of client work.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accounts and financial statements.
• Support VAT returns, reconciliations and bookkeeping tasks.
• Prepare working papers, schedules and tax returns for individuals and corporations.
• Update client records and accounting software.
• Respond to client queries under supervision of senior accountants.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in accountancy and finance.
• Strong numerical, organisational and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• GCSE Maths and English (grade 5 or above) or equivalent.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
