Trainee Behaviour Mentor (Full‑time)

About the role

Engage Education is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Trainee Behaviour Mentors. You will work in local SEND schools in Hastings, supporting children and young people with SEM‑EMH needs and complex needs such as autism, ADHD, and hearing impairments.

Key responsibilities

• Support vulnerable pupils from Reception to KS4 in a classroom setting.
• Calm children, de‑escalate situations and apply effective behaviour‑management techniques.
• Collaborate with support staff to engage pupils and minimise disruption.
• Provide constructive feedback to teachers and parents.
• Work full‑time, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm, on‑site at the school.

Required profile

• Outgoing, mentoring manner with a passion for helping children reach their potential.
• Resilient, proactive and able to think on your feet in a dynamic special‑school environment.
• Experience or personal background in youth support, care work, policing, or SEND is strongly encouraged.
• Recent psychology or related graduates are welcome.
