Trainee Energy Advisor

About the role

As a Trainee Energy Advisor you will help households access the support they need to improve their energy usage. Working directly with clients, you will provide clear, practical advice and contribute to a service that makes a real difference to families across the South West.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the advice line and other telephone advice projects, making and receiving calls from people seeking help with energy‑related issues.
• Accurately record client details and assess the help and support required.
• Identify energy improvements for clients' properties and refer them to suitable installers.
• Listen attentively and respond empathetically during difficult conversations.
• Report any safeguarding or safety concerns promptly to the designated Safeguarding Officer.

Required profile

• Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent qualification).
• Previous experience providing advice or in a customer‑service environment.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• High level of empathy and compassion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding processes.
