Trainee HGV Driver

About the role

The Trainee HGV Driver programme offers full training to become a qualified heavy‑goods‑vehicle driver. Training is delivered by DSA‑accredited instructors at one of the company’s 50 UK locations, after which you will be placed in full‑time driving roles with partner employers.

Key responsibilities

• Complete the mandatory HGV training course, including medical assessment and CPC qualification.
• Pass practical driving assessments to obtain a full HGV licence.
• Undertake on‑the‑job driving duties for partner companies once qualified.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and road‑traffic regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Valid UK driving licence (car licence acceptable for entry).
• No prior HGV experience required.
• Willingness to commit to full‑time training and subsequent employment.

Required skills

• Basic road‑safety knowledge.
• Ability to follow instructor guidance and learn vehicle operation.
