Trainee Paraplanner – Financial Planning Role

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position offers a trainee paraplanner the chance to join a well‑established financial planning firm in Lytham St. Annes. You will support advisers by preparing detailed suitability reports and maintaining client records while working in a hybrid, flexible environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed research on financial products, funds and technical planning areas to support advisers.
• Prepare clear, compliant suitability reports for client recommendations.
• Respond to client queries and provide ongoing support to build strong relationships.
• Maintain accurate client records, including risk profiles and compliance documentation.
• Ensure all work aligns with regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Stay up‑to‑date with market trends, regulatory changes and new financial products.
• Collaborate closely with advisers and administrative teams to deliver excellent client outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in paraplanning or a similar role.
• Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or actively working towards it) is essential.
• Strong understanding of pensions, investments, retirement planning, tax and financial services regulation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• High level of accuracy, strong organisational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
