Trainee Plant Fitter / Service Engineer (Plant Machinery)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated college leaver to join our growing team as a Trainee Plant Fitter / Service Engineer. The role combines on‑site machinery diagnosis and repair with office‑based preparation of equipment for sale, offering a clear pathway to senior engineering positions.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on plant and vehicle machinery at customer sites.
• Replace or refurbish components to ensure machines are ready for resale.
• Travel between the Goring Heath office and various job sites, working 8‑5, Monday‑Friday.
• Complete overtime and respond to urgent service calls as required.
• Participate in structured training programmes to develop technical competencies.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Machinery, Vehicle Mechanics or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently on site and collaborate with office staff.
• Valid driver’s licence (implied by field work).
