Trainee Plant Fitter / Service Engineer – Plant Machinery

About the role

This is a full‑time, entry‑level position for a college leaver who holds an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Machinery, Vehicle Mechanics or a related discipline. You will work both in the office and on customer sites, gaining hands‑on experience diagnosing, repairing and preparing plant equipment for sale.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out fault‑finding on a variety of plant machinery on site.
• Repair or replace components to restore machines to operational condition.
• Prepare serviced equipment for resale, ensuring it meets quality standards.
• Complete overtime and respond to service calls as required.
• Participate in structured training programmes to develop technical competence.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Machinery, Vehicle Mechanics or a similar field.
• Basic knowledge of plant and vehicle mechanical systems.
• Willingness to learn and progress to senior engineering roles.

Required skills
