Trainer Assessor – Residential Childcare (Hybrid, Midlands)

About the role
We are seeking a Trainer Assessor to deliver high‑quality teaching, coaching and assessment for Level 4 and Level 5 Residential Childcare apprenticeship standards. Working on a hybrid basis for 22.5 hours per week, you will support learners throughout their journey, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and our organisational values.
Key responsibilities
- Manage an agreed caseload of apprentices and employer‑based learners, providing training, coaching, mentoring and assessment.
- Use initial assessment data to plan and sequence learning, covering knowledge, skills, behaviours, English and maths development.
- Develop individual training plans in collaboration with employers and monitor progress toward final assessment.
- Deliver comprehensive inductions for learners and employers, clarifying roles and responsibilities.
- Create and implement effective training strategies and resources to support learner progress.
- Ensure all assessment practices meet Acorn Training and Awarding Organisation standards and quality‑assurance requirements.
- Plan, track and monitor off‑the‑job training as part of each apprentice’s training plan.
- Promote continuous development of learners’ English, maths and digital skills.
- Provide pastoral support, safeguarding, Prevent, radicalisation, equality, diversity and fundamental British values guidance.
- Organise assessment opportunities, review meetings and provide constructive feedback.
Required profile
- Proven experience delivering training, coaching and assessment for residential childcare apprenticeships or similar qualifications.
- Ability to manage a caseload and develop personalised training plans.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and fundamental British values.
- Excellent communication skills for working with learners, employers and internal teams.
- Commitment to supporting learners’ English, maths and digital skill development.
