About the role
Salford City College is seeking an enthusiastic Trainer/Assessor to join its Health and Social Care and Children’s Services team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality residential childcare and early years apprenticeships, ensuring learners receive an outstanding experience and achieve their career goals.
Key responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders both virtually and in‑person to provide guidance on apprenticeship pathways.
- Support apprentices in developing knowledge, skills and professional behaviours.
- Conduct site‑based assessments and maintain accurate learner records.
- Review progress with employers and apprentices, identifying any additional support needed.
- Identify new apprenticeship opportunities and deliver short training courses.
- Contribute to team targets and continuous improvement of the apprenticeship programme.
Required profile
- Relevant industry experience in residential childcare and early years.
- Experience supporting apprentices within these sectors.
- Strong communication and customer‑service abilities.
- Assessor qualification preferred; teaching, training or IQA qualification beneficial.
- Familiarity with e‑portfolio systems is an advantage.
