Head of Modern Foreign Languages

About the role

The Head of Modern Foreign Languages will join the Middle Leadership Team of a brand‑new 11‑16 academy in south Bristol. You will help shape the academy’s language provision, lead extra‑curricular opportunities and support the development of high‑quality teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Modern Foreign Languages department and contribute to the academy’s strategic direction.
• Design and deliver a rich, extra‑curricular language programme for students.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, staff and the wider community.
• Collaborate with year teams and other leaders to improve standards across the school.
• Participate in academy life beyond formal lessons, including meetings and coaching programmes.
