Transaction Monitoring Analyst

About the role

Barclays is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join its Glasgow team. In this position you will support business areas with day‑to‑day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monitoring checks on customers, transactions and other activities to identify potential risks.
• Review, investigate and report suspicious activity, escalating to the NCA when necessary.
• Manage issues and alerts arising from monitoring tests, ensuring timely resolution.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align and integrate transaction monitoring processes.
• Identify improvement opportunities and recommend changes to procedures and controls.
• Develop and implement best‑practice monitoring procedures to mitigate risk.
• Stay informed of industry trends and contribute to projects that enhance monitoring efficiency.

Required profile

• Analytical approach with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in transaction monitoring and AML processes.
• Strong communication skills.
• Banking or financial services experience is highly valued.
• Ability to perform tasks consistently to a high standard and drive continuous improvement.
