Transport Administrator (Bookings) – South West Essex

About the role

This full‑time permanent position supports a busy transport and logistics operation in South West Essex. You will coordinate delivery bookings, maintain accurate documentation and act as the main liaison between customers, drivers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for daily transport operations.
• Coordinate delivery requirements between import operations and planning teams.
• Contact customers to arrange, confirm and manage delivery bookings.
• Align appointments with fleet planning and route optimisation.
• Prepare and verify transport and delivery documentation.
• Manage delivery discrepancies, exceptions and overages.
• Monitor delivery performance and proactively address delays.
• Liaise with customers, drivers, warehouse and operational departments.
• Identify and resolve transport issues, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail when processing bookings and paperwork.
• Confident communication with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
• Quick learner of transport management systems.
