Transport Administrator (Traffic Dispatcher)

About the role

The Transport Administrator (also acting as Traffic Dispatcher) is responsible for the day‑to‑day organisation of depot operations, allocating vehicles and planning routes to ensure a high‑quality service for customers while maintaining health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise vehicle routes and utilisation to meet service targets.
• Manage driver availability, ensuring compliance with legal and company regulations.
• Oversee vehicle inspections, safety checks and routine maintenance.
• Handle administrative duties such as payroll, timesheets, tachograph records and reporting.
• Analyse depot data to improve cost‑efficiency and operational performance.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the local area and road network.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
• Solution‑oriented mindset with good problem‑solving skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to support a diverse client base.
• Experience in administration, call handling or other time‑critical environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
