Transport Enforcement & Investigations Officer

About the role

The Transport Enforcement and Investigations Officer protects the integrity of London’s transport network and the taxi and private hire industry. Working from Palestra House, you will travel across the TfL network on a rotating shift pattern to investigate a range of transport‑related offences.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate fare evasion, fraud and other transport‑related offences.
• Investigate taxi and private‑hire licensing offences and non‑compliance.
• Identify persistent and high‑risk offenders.
• Gather, assess and analyse intelligence and evidence.
• Conduct interviews with witnesses, customers, drivers, operators and suspected offenders.
• Prepare professional investigation reports and case files.
• Support enforcement operations across transport, taxi and private‑hire networks.
• Work collaboratively with police, local authorities and other enforcement partners.
• Present evidence and support legal proceedings where required.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legislation, policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Confident communicator able to build rapport, gather information and present evidence clearly.
• Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work early starts, late finishes, weekends and bank holidays on a rotating shift.
• Ability to undergo NPPV Level 1 and Counter Terrorist Check clearance.
• Right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship available.
