Transport Planner – Dagenham

About the role

ReFood is seeking a Transport Planner to join its Dagenham site, supporting the efficient operation of its food‑waste recycling plants. This full‑time permanent role involves planning vehicle workloads, routes and driver schedules to meet service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan daily vehicle workloads and routes for collections and deliveries at the Dagenham site.
• Allocate drivers and vehicles efficiently, ensuring compliance with driver hours and licensing requirements.
• Monitor fuel levels, negotiate supplier prices and manage re‑order points.
• Oversee fleet services, MOTs and weighbridge operations.
• Handle customer, employee and colleague queries via phone and email.
• Ensure adherence to health & safety, statutory vehicle regulations and company procedures.
• Support any additional projects or duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Formal education with relevant qualifications.
• Previous experience in a busy transport office or department.
• Experience with multi‑drop planning and planning systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage conflicting demands.
• Good knowledge of transport regulations and ability to work under pressure.
• Committed, reliable and flexible team player.
