Transport Planner

About the role

Windsor Waste Management Ltd is seeking a Transport Planner to work closely with the Operations and Transport Managers. The role focuses on delivering a cost‑effective, efficient transport service that maximises profit and maintains high customer satisfaction within the asbestos and hazardous waste sector.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and forward‑plan daily vehicle and driver schedules in line with tachograph regulations.
• Prioritise bin tipping by date, produce and scan consignment notes, and book loads with landfill sites.
• Conduct driver check‑ins (AM & PM), update office records with breakdowns, delays and ETAs, and provide special instructions.
• Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, handling queries, service updates and non‑compliant waste issues.
• Update customer site information in Weighsoft and manage wasted journeys.
• Record, act on and report vehicle breakdowns, ensuring paperwork is completed on time.
• Manage insurance status of vehicles and notify customers of overweight bins within 24 hours.

Required profile

• Own a vehicle and hold a valid UK driving licence (office location not served by public transport).
• Legal right to live and work in the UK (no sponsorship offered).
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently in an office‑based environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of tachograph regulations.
• Experience using the Weighsoft system for load and site management.
