Treatment Room Co-ordinator

About the role

NHS Lanarkshire is recruiting a Treatment Room Co-ordinator, a post open only to its current employees. The postholder supports the Community Nursing Team Leader, who holds overall line management responsibility for the treatment room, and ensures a person-centred, safe and effective approach to care delivery. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate episodes of care in line with NHS Lanarkshire policies, procedures and NMC guidelines
• Carry out all forms of relevant care without supervision and demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and unregistered nursing staff
• Direct, coordinate and supervise the work of other staff involved in patient care, and ensure resources are available for planned procedures including Keep Well
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the department, including supervision and deployment of staff across all sites to ensure equitable service provision
• Deliver treatment room nursing practice such as tissue viability and infection control, and uphold public protection responsibilities
• Implement clinical governance processes involving users and carers to drive continuous improvement
• Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team and contribute to practice development and health improvement

Required profile

• Registered nurse with valid NMC registration
• Degree level education, or working towards it
• Postgraduate expertise in the specialty or area of practice, with comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards
• Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence
