Trust Doctor (ST4+) – Physician Response Unit (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Physician Response Unit (PRU) brings emergency department expertise directly to patients in the community across North East London. This senior fellow position offers a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, providing advanced pre‑hospital emergency care while gaining operational leadership experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical assessment and treatment to patients in their homes using a fully equipped response vehicle.
• Make autonomous clinical decisions within your competence, supported by on‑call consultant advice.
• Participate in clinical audit, governance activities, and service development initiatives.
• Represent the PRU at local management and development forums.

Required profile

• Completed a 12‑month clinical fellowship (ST4+ level) in emergency or pre‑hospital medicine.
• Current full GMC registration and appropriate licensure to practice in the UK.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, high‑performing team.
• Commitment to patient‑centred, community‑based emergency care.
