Trust Registrar in Vascular

About the role

The Trust Registrar in Vascular & Endovascular will join the vascular team at Colchester and Ipswich Hospital, part of East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. This middle‑grade position is designed for doctors who have completed a recognised general training scheme and hold full MRCP (or equivalent) qualifications, offering exposure to a wide range of vascular conditions and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient clinical care under the supervision of the on‑call vascular consultant.
• Assist in outpatient clinics, supporting the vascular consultant team.
• Participate in both endovascular and open vascular surgery cases as a registrar.
• Take part in a rota with other middle‑grade staff to deliver a consistent vascular service.
• Be on call one in seven, with non‑resident out‑of‑hours cover and junior support from the general surgical team.

Required profile

• Completion of a recognised general training programme.
• Full MRCP qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong interest in developing a career in vascular surgery.
• Willingness to work under consultant supervision and participate in on‑call duties.
