UK Director of Operations – Specialty Insurance (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a UK Director of Operations to lead critical operational functions within a fast‑growing, technology‑enabled specialty insurance business. Based in London with a hybrid working model, you will sit at the centre of underwriting, operations and finance, ensuring seamless delivery of processes while driving efficiency, scalability and strategic development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end bordereaux and delegated authority data operations.
• Drive onboarding and implementation of new insurance programmes.
• Manage operational hand‑offs between Underwriting, Operations and Finance.
• Oversee reconciliation, reporting and operational performance analysis.
• Develop operational frameworks, controls and best practices.
• Champion process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Manage and develop the operations team.
• Oversee premium collection and credit control activities.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in commercial P&C insurance operations.
• Deep knowledge of delegated authority, MGA/MGU models and bordereaux data.
• Proven project and programme delivery capability.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
