Urgent Care Assistant – Swindon (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

HealthHero is looking for a part‑time Urgent Care Assistant to support Integrated Urgent Care services across Wiltshire, Swindon and surrounding areas. The role combines driving, reception and base duties on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Drive clinicians safely to patients’ homes, complying with all road regulations.
• Perform basic vehicle checks before and after each shift.
• Act as the first point of contact for patients or carers at designated Treatment Centres.
• Support clinicians on‑site, including communication with patients in person and by phone.
• Maintain a clean and tidy Treatment Centre environment.
• Manage medication and consumable stock using computer systems, ensuring accurate records and proper rotation.
• Undertake occasional long‑duration sitting, lifting of emergency equipment and CPR if required.

Required profile

• Well‑organized, hardworking and personable.
• Flexible with shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and occasional overnight sessions.
• Willing to undergo a driver’s medical assessment.
• Committed to providing non‑clinical support to clinicians and patients.

Required skills

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle safety checks.
• Basic computer proficiency for stock and medication management.
