Urgent & Emergency Care Clinician

About the role

The Urgent & Emergency Care Clinician (UECC) will join the Integrated Contact Centres (ICC) across the North West, providing remote assessment and clinical advice to patients 24/7. This permanent position (with 12‑month secondments leading to permanency) offers comprehensive training and a pathway to develop specialist skills.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct remote clinical assessments of patients via telephone and digital platforms.
• Maintain high clinical standards and ensure safe patient care.
• Manage the clinical queue and refer calls to partner Clinical Assessment Services.
• Provide clinical advice to both clinical and non‑clinical colleagues.
• Mentor and support staff returning to practice or new to the role.

Required profile

• Qualified health professional (e.g., registered nurse, paramedic, or allied health professional).
• Willingness to commit to full‑time training (6‑8 weeks) without annual leave.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, bank holidays and public holidays.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
