VAT Manager

About the role

This permanent opportunity is with a well‑established FMCG organisation based in Slough. The VAT Manager will lead VAT compliance, reporting and advisory activities for the finance team, ensuring all obligations are met accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee VAT compliance and reporting processes, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with current UK regulations.
• Provide VAT‑related advice and support to internal accounting and finance teams.
• Monitor legislative changes and implement necessary process adjustments.
• Collaborate with external advisors and auditors as required.
• Identify opportunities for VAT efficiencies and risk mitigation.
• Support ad‑hoc tax queries from the finance department.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for VAT audits and compliance checks.

Required profile

• Strong background in VAT compliance and reporting, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Relevant qualifications in accounting, tax or finance.
• Excellent knowledge of UK VAT legislation and its practical application.
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑focused environment.
