Vehicle Technician – Full‑time Role in Reading

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy main dealer’s after‑sales team in Reading. The role offers a clear progression path towards supervisory positions within a respected automotive brand.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Complete jobs within manufacturer‑set timings to maintain productivity.
• Produce accurate diagnostic reports and document all work carried out.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and customers, ensuring high satisfaction.
• Mentor and support fellow technicians as required.
• Develop skills towards Assistant Manager responsibilities.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in a prestige dealership or similar environment.
• Strong technical problem‑solving ability and excellent customer service standards.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Full UK driving licence.
• High‑voltage EV/Hybrid training preferred.
• Motivated, target‑driven and adaptable in a busy workshop.
