Walk-in Centre Triage Nurse (Band 5)

About the role
The Walk‑In Service at Aberdeen Health Village is recruiting a Band 5 Registered Nurse to act as the first clinical contact for patients accessing urgent primary care without an appointment. You will work in a fast‑paced, out‑of‑hours environment, applying rapid assessment and triage skills to ensure safe, person‑centred care.
Key responsibilities
- Perform rapid clinical and physical assessments of walk‑in patients.
- Apply standardised triage protocols to prioritise patients by urgency.
- Initiate immediate interventions and escalate care when required.
- Collaborate closely with GPs, ANPs, the Service Manager and the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the delivery of high‑quality, safe care and service development.
Required profile
- Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Post‑registration nursing experience with evidence of continued professional development.
- Strong communication, assessment and decision‑making abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and respond to changing clinical demands.
- Commitment to high standards of care, teamwork and service improvement.
Required skills
- Proficiency in using standardised clinical triage protocols.
What we offer
- Fixed‑term contract (12 months) with Band 5 (AFC) salary and unsocial‑hour enhancements.
- Part‑time and flexible working options within 12 pm‑8 pm, Monday‑Sunday.
