Warehouse Operative – Fire & Rescue

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Warehouse Operative to join our Fire & Rescue workshop in Gloucester. You will play a key part in ensuring that all goods and specialist parts are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload deliveries, checking for damage or missing items.
• Store goods safely and move stock using manual methods, lifting equipment, or a forklift.
• Enter stock and inventory data into our computerised system and keep paperwork up to date.
• Pick, pack, and ship orders for customers and external engineers, ensuring items are undamaged.
• Carry out regular stock counts, routine checks, and assist with parts identification.
• Support health and safety inspections and manage LOLER, calibration, and PAT testing for site and mobile engineers.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a busy warehouse environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and maintain high attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Team‑player attitude with flexibility to take on varied tasks.

Required skills

• Forklift operation licence (counter‑balance preferred).
• Proficiency with stock management systems and basic computer use.
• Knowledge of FIFO stock control principles.
