Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver - Counterbalance FLT

About the role

We are looking for a Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a well‑established warehousing and distribution business in Slough. The role involves safe handling, storage and movement of goods for e‑commerce and retail clients, with internal training provided for a VNA licence. Working hours are Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklift trucks, pallet trucks and other material‑handling equipment safely and in line with company procedures.
• Load, unload and move stock throughout the warehouse, including picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch.
• Carry out goods receipt checks, load inspections, stock counts and use RF scanners to maintain accurate inventory.
• Ensure inbound and outbound goods are correctly recorded and report any damaged or incorrect items.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, report faults and keep the work area clean, organised and safe.
• Follow health‑and‑safety, quality and hygiene standards at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a warehouse, forklift or materials handling role.
• Valid Counterbalance (CB) Forklift Licence – essential.
• Confidence operating material‑handling equipment safely.
• Ability to perform stock control, order picking and goods handling duties.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Availability for the Monday‑to‑Friday 9‑6 shift.

Required skills

• Counterbalance forklift operation.
• Use of pallet trucks and other handling equipment.
• Operation of RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
• Basic knowledge of VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) equipment – training provided.
