WCA Doctor – Hybrid (Leeds)

About the role

As a Doctor Functional Assessor you will apply your clinical expertise to evaluate how disabilities or health conditions affect daily life. Working for Maximus in Leeds, you will support the Department for Work and Pensions by producing Work Capability Assessment reports for a range of complex cases.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments to determine the impact of health conditions on daily activities.
• Prepare detailed WCA reports that inform benefit eligibility decisions.
• Handle cases involving veterans, neurological conditions, industrial injuries and respiratory diseases.
• Participate in a structured training programme and receive ongoing mentorship.

Required profile

• Valid GMC registration number.
• Minimum one year of post‑registration experience, either within or outside the NHS.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom (no sponsorship available).
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer software for report writing.
