Web Developer (WordPress & PHP) – 3‑Month Contract

About the role

Our public‑sector client is seeking a Web Developer for an initial three‑month contract, working outside IR35. The role is hybrid – one day per week in the Liverpool office and the remaining days remote – and focuses on building and maintaining WordPress‑based websites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop front‑end and back‑end features using PHP, JavaScript and modern CSS frameworks.
• Implement and customise WordPress plugins and themes to meet functional requirements.
• Collaborate with the technology team to troubleshoot, resolve issues and optimise site performance and security.
• Test, debug and ensure code quality across browsers and devices.
• Stay up‑to‑date with WordPress developments and apply best practices.
• Document changes and maintain clear records of website updates.
• Provide technical support and advice to stakeholders as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing WordPress sites with PHP.
• Strong front‑end skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and GraphQL.
• Comfortable using Visual Studio Code as the primary IDE.

What we offer

• Daily rate of £200‑£280.
