Weekend Care Home Cleaner

About the role

This part‑time weekend position supports the daily upkeep of a residential care home in Chorley. You will work on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas and communal spaces.
• Follow routine and deep‑cleaning schedules, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised.
• Use and store cleaning chemicals safely in line with COSHH guidelines.
• Empty bins, dispose of waste appropriately and replenish cleaning supplies.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards or stock shortages to management.
• Work respectfully around children, staff and visitors, maintaining a calm professional presence.
• Adhere to safeguarding, health & safety and infection‑control procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably in a care or residential setting.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene standards and safe use of cleaning products.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Attention to detail and understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
• Friendly, approachable attitude.
