Weekend Housekeeping Assistant

About the role
The Weekend Housekeeping Assistant supports the daily cleanliness and comfort of residents at Buchanan Lodge Care Home in Bearsden, North Glasgow. Working on weekends, you will help maintain high standards of hygiene across bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas while also assisting with laundry services.
Key responsibilities
- Clean and tidy resident rooms, bathrooms and shared spaces following infection‑control and health‑and‑safety procedures.
- Collect, wash, dry, iron and return clothing and linens, ensuring items are correctly labelled.
- Empty waste bins, restock supplies and report any maintenance issues.
- Collaborate with the wider care team to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Required profile
- Positive, reliable attitude and good attendance.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational habits.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and infection‑control practices (beneficial but not mandatory).
Required skills
What we offer
- Hourly rate up to £12.71.
- Contract of up to 10 hours per week, weekend shifts.
- Paid PVG, pension contribution and uniform.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro‑rated from full‑time entitlement).
