Workshop Controller (Swindon)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Workshop Controller to join our busy Swindon branch. The role involves overseeing daily workshop operations, ensuring compliance with policies, and driving efficiency and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the daily operation of the workshop and its various components.
• Monitor and control use of workshop resources (staff, space, equipment) to maximise quality, efficiency and profitability.
• Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for safe and efficient workshop operation.
• Collaborate with workshop reception, foreman and stores to promote high staff morale, timely customer care and productivity.
• Monitor, resolve and report health and safety issues in line with company policy.

Required profile

• Strong management and leadership abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi‑task and prioritise deadlines.
• Experience working to KPIs, budgets and meeting targets.
• Comfortable in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in the automotive industry is essential.
