Workshop Engineer - Forklift Service

About the role

Crown Lift Trucks Ltd, part of Crown, one of the world's largest material handling companies, is recruiting a Workshop Engineer in Birmingham. The role covers day-to-day service, repair and maintenance of forklift trucks, handling equipment and plant, with a focus on keeping downtime to a minimum.

Key responsibilities

• Complete inspections and safety checks in line with industry practice and regulations
• Carry out day-to-day service, repair and maintenance of forklift trucks, handling equipment and plant
• Complete fault finding and repairs to meet first-fix targets
• Prepare new equipment and source parts from internal or external suppliers
• Keep downtime low and communicate efficiently with colleagues
• Follow company procedures and Health and Safety / COSHH regulations
• Seek opportunities for personal and team development and carry out other duties as reasonably requested

Required profile

• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or hydraulics, with willingness to take additional training
• Full UK driving licence
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above
• Experience of health and safety requirements in a workshop setting
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with clear oral and written communication
• Desirable: recent forklift truck service experience and an engineering qualification
