Year 1 Supply Teacher – Primary (Southampton/Portsmouth)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Year 1 supply teachers to support primary schools across Hampshire. The role is flexible, full‑time and can start immediately, offering you the chance to work in a variety of classroom environments while gaining valuable experience with young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Year 1 curriculum in line with school policies.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
• Manage behaviour and support pupils’s social and academic development.
• Adapt lesson plans quickly to meet the needs of each school.
• Complete minimal marking and planning required for day‑to‑day teaching.

Required profile

• Relevant classroom experience, preferably with Year 1 pupils.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Adaptability to different school settings and schedules.
• Professional attitude and proactive communication.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
