Youth Worker – Support Children with SEN in Stroud

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join a supportive school environment in Stroud. You will work with children and young people who have additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Provide consistent mentoring and positive role modelling throughout the school day.
- Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social interaction challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN professionals to implement tailored support strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement with learning.
- Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Empathetic, resilient and proactive.
- Passionate about autism, SEN and child development.
- Strong communicator and relationship‑builder.
- Background in psychology, education, counselling, care or similar (desirable).
