About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join a supportive school environment in Stroud. You will work with children and young people who have additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

Provide consistent mentoring and positive role modelling throughout the school day.
Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social interaction challenges.
Collaborate with teachers and SEN professionals to implement tailored support strategies.
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement with learning.
Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

Empathetic, resilient and proactive.
Passionate about autism, SEN and child development.
Strong communicator and relationship‑builder.
Background in psychology, education, counselling, care or similar (desirable).
