About the role
The Faculty of Economics together with Selwyn College invites applications for a three‑year Abdey Isaac Newton Trust Academic Career Development Fellowship in Economics. The Fellow will join both the Faculty and the College, balancing research and teaching responsibilities while benefiting from dedicated mentorship and a supportive academic community.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake an independent research project over the three‑year term.
- Teach core and optional economics courses, including Quantitative Methods and Econometrics, to undergraduate and master’s students.
- Deliver small‑group teaching in the College and, in years 2 and 3, potentially serve as College Director of Studies.
- Participate in the social and intellectual life of Selwyn College, attending events and meals.
- Collaborate with Faculty members on research, publications and grant applications.
Required profile
- Early‑career researcher with less than three years post‑PhD experience (excluding career breaks).
- PhD (or equivalent) awarded or to be submitted before the start date.
- Demonstrated research record in any field of Economics.
- Enthusiasm for teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and build effective relationships across the University.
