Accountant – End-to-End Accounting for Offshore Wind JV

About the role

Join us as we work to unlock the value of offshore wind. JERA Nex bp, a 50:50 joint venture between Japan’s JERA and bp, is building a leading offshore wind portfolio. As an Accountant you will own end‑to‑end accounting for a set of legal entities, supporting both local statutory reporting and group consolidation.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for assigned entities, including invoice posting, payments, accruals, month‑end close and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyse statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Manage accounts receivable, cash management, liquidity planning and tax return preparation.
• Lead statutory audit coordination and support group audit requirements.
• Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities while maintaining internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance within a multinational environment.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS; familiarity with German GAAP (HGB) is a plus.
• Experience with VAT and Corporate Income Tax (CIT) processes.
