Accounts Semi‑Senior

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Semi‑Senior to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Keynsham. The role involves preparing accounts, handling VAT and CIS for a diverse client portfolio and working closely with the Accounts Manager and a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare client accounts and year‑end statutory accounts for limited companies.
• Process and submit VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements.
• Manage Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) transactions, deductions and reconciliations.
• Reconcile payroll data, PAYE, National Insurance and pension contributions with CIS records.
• Review bookkeeping records, identify discrepancies and liaise with clients for additional information.
• Work primarily with Xero accounting software.

Required profile

• AAT or ACCA‑qualified professional (or currently studying).
• Experience using Xero and handling VAT, CIS and payroll reconciliations.
• Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines and communicate effectively with clients.
• Based within commuting distance of Bristol or Bath.
