About the role
Are you wanting to make a difference for children and young people with special needs? This specialist school in Camberley is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aspiring Child Counsellor / Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join the team. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and counsellors, gaining first‑hand experience in the SEN sector.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher with delivering the learning experience.
- Provide dedicated 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with learning, physical, sensory or behavioural challenges.
- Follow and implement safeguarding guidelines in the classroom.
- Attend staff meetings and complete relevant CPD activities.
- Maintain reliable attendance, commuting to Camberley for the school day.
Required profile
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or overseas police check where appropriate).
- Compassionate, caring approach with good listening skills.
- Availability Monday‑Friday, 08:30‑15:30, term‑time only.
