Assistant Accountant – 12‑Month FMCG Contract

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a fast‑moving FMCG business on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. You will work closely with the Finance Manager, supporting month‑end processes, reporting and day‑to‑day finance operations. The role offers immediate start and hybrid working flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end and year‑end finance processes
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations
• Support management reporting and financial analysis
• Maintain accruals and pre‑payments
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Analyse financial data and investigate variances
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required
• Help improve finance processes and controls

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar finance role
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, distribution or another high‑volume environment preferred
• Immediately available or able to start on short notice
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
• AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA, or qualified by experience
