Associate Director - Institutional NFR UK & Europe

About the role

As an Associate Director – Institutional Non-Financial Risk (NFR) for the UK and Europe, you will support the sustainable growth of ANZ’s Institutional business across London, Paris and Frankfurt. Reporting to senior risk leadership, you will act as a trusted advisor to business heads, ensuring that non-financial risks are identified, assessed and managed within the group’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent risk advice to senior leaders in Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage.
• Oversee risk profiling, control effectiveness, emerging risk themes and risk-in-change across the region.
• Lead and coordinate risk governance forums, ensuring robust reporting, escalation and decision-making processes.
• Monitor material non-financial risks, guarantee clear ownership and timely escalation of issues.
• Drive enhancements to risk controls, governance processes and reporting capabilities.
• Govern Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Third-Party Risk Management in line with local regulations.
• Support the annual Risk Appetite Statement process and the enterprise-wide PACT non-financial risk uplift programme.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior risk management roles within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of non-financial risk domains such as operational resilience, business continuity and third-party risk.
• Ability to influence senior business leaders across multiple European locations.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with a focus on governance and regulatory compliance.
