Associate Director - SPIVA Analytics Lead, Index Investment Strategy

About the role
As an Associate Director leading SPIVA Analytics within S&P Dow Jones Indices' Index Investment Strategy team, you will own a globally recognised dataset and the analytical workflows that underpin the flagship SPIVA® Scorecards. You will work across London, Hong Kong and New York to enhance data quality, scalability and usability for active‑vs‑passive investment performance research.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain, oversee and improve the analytical processes that generate SPIVA® Scorecards.
- Design, build and extend scalable analytical pipelines, reporting tools and core datasets using modern data and AI‑enabled technologies.
- Validate and analyse data from multiple sources, ensuring high standards of quality, reproducibility and documentation.
- Evaluate new data sources and recommend enhancements to broaden the SPIVA platform’s scope and capability.
- Own the operating model for the dataset and analytics, delivering sustainable, efficient global workflows.
- Conduct original research and collaborate with a research director to launch new initiatives that translate data into investment insights.
- Partner with research, commercial and cross‑functional teams to align priorities, gather diverse perspectives and secure buy‑in for analytical recommendations.
- Provide tools, datasets and frameworks to empower colleagues, acting as the subject‑matter expert for complex analytical matters.
- Communicate complex analytical concepts clearly in written materials, internal discussions and external research outputs.
Required profile
- Proven experience in quantitative research or analytics within the investment or financial services sector.
- Ability to operate autonomously at a senior level, taking accountability for end‑to‑end analytical systems.
- Strong attention to data quality, reproducibility and rigorous documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across global, cross‑functional teams.
