Associate/Principal Chartered Structural Engineer

About the role

Join Tetra Tech as a Chartered Structural Engineer working on technically demanding nuclear projects. This position is focused on delivering high‑quality structural design and analysis in a highly regulated environment, allowing you to concentrate on complex technical work rather than people management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver structural engineering designs and analyses for nuclear facilities from concept through detailed design.
• Produce calculations, drawings, and technical documentation that meet nuclear, industry, and statutory standards.
• Act as the technical authority within multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Support independent checking, validation activities, and rigorous quality assurance of all engineering deliverables.
• Contribute to safety case development, design justification, and overall engineering decision‑making.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of evolving nuclear standards and regulatory guidance.

Required profile

• Chartered Structural Engineer with extensive experience in the nuclear or highly regulated sector.
• Strong technical judgement and ability to work independently on complex problems.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality engineering outputs without direct people‑management responsibilities.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
